Symposium on Synthetic Biology at EMBL

June 30, 2015

From June 21st to 23rd, EMBL in Heidelberg held a symposium titled “Enabling Technologies for Eukaryotic Synthetic Biology Meeting”. It aimed at providing a platform for interdisciplinary discussions on novel enabling technologies for synthetic biology in eukaryotic cells and facilitating exchange of ideas and new multi-disciplinary collaborations. Editors from the Journal Molecular Systems Biology, Biomed Central and AIChe Journal attended the meeting, supporting open source in Synthetic Biology. Among others, invited speakers had a background in Big Data in Biology (Bioinformatics), Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology. SynSignal PI Luis Serrano (CRG) presented their work on whole cell modeling of M. pneumonia, which is part of another EU project.
